Aitona Dresses in Pink!! - Flowering Tourism
PROJECT PRESENTATIONSPAIN IN BLOOM

Aitona dresses in pink!!

The flowering campaign in Aitona is being extraordinary!!

This weekend has been fantastic, receiving thousands of visitors to the municipality from all over Spain, and also from abroad, from countries such as the Philippines, Mexico, England, Argentina, Japan, according to data provided by the

responsible for the tourism initiative that each year surpasses the previous one in organization and number of visits.

Everything was perfectly organised, with the invaluable collaboration of more than 60 local residents who participated as volunteers to support farmers and guides in their care of visitors.

A collaboration that is essential to guarantee the success of the initiatives launched by the City Council and local associations, according to the mayor, Rosa Pujol, who hopes that this year the number of 20,000 visitors from last year will be surpassed.

There have been many recreational and gastronomic proposals that travellers have been able to enjoy, all of them with the centre placed on the pink sea that covers the lands of Aitona in an ephemeral but intense way for about 15 days. Among them, a 'Hanami Bridal Party' from Japan, the celebration of the XI Popular Walk of Aitona (to benefit the CIS Ángel Olarán) - in which 700 participants have participated -, a tai chi exhibition, various bicycle and photographic routes, the take-off of seven hot air balloons and the installation of different local producer stalls.

As the most notable activity of the weekend outside the organised routes, at least in terms of the number of participants, we enjoyed a recreational-sports walk, the ninth edition of the Paseo Popular de Aitona, a solidarity walk to benefit the Ángel Olaran Centre for Solidarity Initiatives, in which more than 700 people participated.

Guided tours: Torna el Rosa
