Dozens of people from different parts of Spain participated in the tourist campaign of fruit picking last weekend in July. Each one was able to pick red peaches, flat peaches and nectarines from trees that they have sponsored. This initiative, promoted by the city council, aims to de-seasonalise Fruiturisme beyond the spectacle of the flowering of the trees. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each participant pays 50 euros for the sponsorship package, which includes a visit to the farms with the farmers, the 8 kilos of fruit that they pick themselves from the tree and take home, a breakfast for two people, entry to the swimming pools, a straw hat and the possibility of taking a guided tour of the village.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fruit-picking initiative aims to extend the flowering experience to other times of the year. <\/span><\/p>\n

One of the visitors from L'Ampolla said that \u201cit was a perfect day and the guides helped us a lot to choose the best pieces,\u201d he said. Along the same lines, Teresa and Maria Jos\u00e9, residents of Viladecavalls, explained that they were given the experience and encouraged others to come and pick fruit. \u201cWe will definitely come back,\u201d they stressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pioneer municipality<\/b><\/p>\n

Agromarketing travelled to Aitona to hold a working meeting with the Mayor of Aitona, Rosa Pujol, and the Tourism technician, Bea Obis, on the development of the agrotourism project Spain in Bloom and to exchange experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAitona is a pioneering municipality in activities based on flowering and an example to follow, because things that are being done here can be applied to other territories that have a similar flowering,\u201d explained the person in charge of the agrotourism project Spain in Bloom, Antonio Santos. <\/span><\/p>\n

She stressed that the fact that farmers are the guides \u201cmakes the project much more authentic and more personal, because tourists want to be shown things as they are,\u201d she said. She recalled that most of the guides are women and \u201cit is very important, because fruit tourism can create many opportunities for women in rural areas and create tourism not only during the flowering period but throughout the year,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
