The long-awaited cherry blossom in the Jerte Valley is approaching, offering a unique and captivating natural spectacle. According to the official programme presented for 2024, the Spring and Cherry Blossom Festival of National Tourist Interest will take place from March 22, the date set for the institutional opening ceremony of the Cherry Blossom Festival of National Tourist Interest that will take place in the Plaza de las Eras de Piornal, to April 7, when the closing ceremony will take place in Cabezuela del Valle.<\/p>

But a few days before, as a preview of what the flowering of the Jerte has in store, from March 16 to 21 the Awakening of the Valley will be celebrated in the Jerte gorges, heightening the expectations of visitors.<\/p>

In addition, from April 8 to May 3, you can enjoy the Petal Rain, adding a magical touch to this spring experience.<\/p>

This will also be the moment when the 2024 Golden Cherries will be presented, the highest award given by the region and which recognises "the work of people, companies or entities that have contributed to the promotion and dissemination of the Jerte Valley and\/or its products".<\/p>

Exploring the flowering of Jerte and its surroundings<\/h2>

The cherry blossoms transform the landscape of the Jerte Valley into a sea of whiteness, an experience that invites you to explore its charming villages and natural sites. The valley's terraces and terraces are home to the ephemeral beauty of the cherry trees, creating a visually stunning scene.<\/p>

Visiting the different villages in the valley allows you to appreciate the different perspectives of this flowering, from the heights of Tornavacas to the Garganta de los Infiernos Nature Reserve.<\/p>

The Charles V Route connects Jerte with La Vera, evoking the steps of the emperor in the 16th century. On this journey, you can admire the impressive geological formations such as the Marmitas de Gigante or Los Pilones, and immerse yourself in local history and culture by visiting the Cherry Museum in Cabezuela del Valle.<\/p>

In addition to the natural spectacle, visitors can enjoy the region's rich cuisine, such as caldereta extreme\u00f1a, picadillo and trucha jerte\u00f1a. Hiking along the waterfalls of the Garganta de las Nogaleas or exploring towns such as Piornal and El Torno offer unforgettable experiences.<\/p>

Plasencia, a city near the Jerte Valley, offers another cultural attraction with its medieval architecture and impressive historical heritage. From the city walls to the Congress Palace, the city reveals centuries of history and modernity in every corner.<\/p>
