The drop in temperatures in the first days of March means that the cherry blossoming process in the Jerte Valley is going a little slower than expected, after a somewhat warmer January, so the expected blossoming of the cherry trees is expected to occur from 15 or 20 March, although obviously everything depends on the weather and any alteration can change the forecasts.<\/span><\/p>

Although its beginning is not fixed, it is necessary to take into account the historical data that says that the cherry blossom during the last three springs (2020, 2021 and 2022) has been centered in the second half of March, and that its duration does not usually last more than 10 days.<\/span><\/p>

The Cherry Blossom Festival is above all a popular celebration that seeks to reflect the life of an entire region, both past and future. To this end, all kinds of activities are organised that serve as a showcase for our culture, gastronomy, traditions and way of life.<\/span><\/p>

But what most amazes and attracts visitors is the more than one and a half million cherry trees in bloom. During these days, they offer a spectacle that is difficult to compare, since it combines the peculiarity of the valley, one of the most original in existence and which has been modeled in terraces to adapt it to the cultivation of cherries, the great white blanket that covers it and the hospitality of its inhabitants who welcome and show their best finery and treasures to all those who visit it, wanting to make them share in the excitement and joy they feel for the arrival of spring.<\/span><\/p>

The ideal way to see the cherry blossom is to take a tour of all the towns that make up the Jerte Valley, so you can enjoy different perspectives. But you have to bear in mind that, normally, not all the cherry trees bloom at the same time, but rather those in the lower areas, at a lower altitude, bloom first, and as the days go by, the cherry trees in the rest of the areas bloom, ending with the flowering in the colder areas or at a higher altitude.<\/span><\/p>
