Interested parties can register through the website www.fototajinaste.com.
David Pérez, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife, has highlighted the importance of the tajinaste as one of the most recognised emblems of his tourist destination. In this competition, the combination of photography and nature highlights the local authenticity and the characteristic endemic species of the region. Pérez stated that this competition will allow the best images of the iconic tajinaste to be selected, which will then be used to promote the destination, emphasising its authentic values.
Pérez also stressed that the valorisation of natural heritage is a commitment that they have assumed through Biosphere certification in order to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For her part, Agustina Beltrán, mayor of Vilaflor, highlighted the importance of this contest, as it promotes local flora, especially the tajinaste, which is a great attraction for the municipality. She encouraged the population of the island to participate, take photographs and enjoy the charms that Vilaflor de Chasna offers, including its gastronomy and the beauty of its landscapes.
