The municipality of Moratalla (Murcia) will put the finishing touch on its Lalavand Lavender Festival next Saturday, September 28, with the celebration of the San Miguel Fair 2024, where popular traditions, crafts and natural products from the area will be on display.
Organised in collaboration with GastrOleum and the Local Integral Action Group, within the framework of the Murcia Rural cooperation project, this dynamic and popular event has planned several actions, including a market that will tour the old town of Moratalla and where artisans, merchants and entrepreneurs will promote and sell their products. It will also feature a series of presentations, workshops and tastings of very diverse products.
The Fair will also have a gastronomic area selling culinary proposals made with local foods and a farm that will house the most representative animals of the region. In addition, the San Miguel 2024 Fair will be enlivened by the most representative groups of animal farmers from the municipality.
The initiative is part of the activities of the Lavender Territory project, which aims to boost the economic and social reactivation and revitalization of the “Valle de San Juan” area (a project co-financed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge), revolving around the unique heritage of aromatic plants that the town has.
