Beauty and emotions
The colorful spectacle of Guadalajara - The Lavender Bloom
If you like blooming flowers, don't be discouraged when spring ends, summer welcomes us with a paradise of beautiful colors with the flowering of lavender. You can enjoy this wonderful spectacle of sensations in the province of Guadalajara, community of Castilla La Mancha, in the town of Brihuega.
Trying to explain both the beauty of this flowering and the emotions it produces thanks to the sensation it transmits is almost impossible to describe through simple words.
To enjoy all this magnificence from the beginning of June, celebrate the march of spring at the Lavender Festival, held in Brihuega, a landscape that has nothing to rival that of French Provence.
Lavender is a perennial, woody shrub or bush with fine green stems and pretty violet flowers. The buds are a darker purple, and when they open, a small flower with five violet petals can be seen, with a small orange brooch in the centre.
Both buds and flowers grow at the tip of the stem, and their appearance could resemble a thin, elongated purple pine cone. These natural and delicate aromatic spears will fill you with the most beautiful sensations and emotions.
Walking with your eyes closed, gently passing your hand over the stems while you soak up the extraordinary fragrance, and opening your eyes to realize that you are living a dream while awake.
Not only will you enjoy the bright and fascinating green and violet colours, which create a two-coloured paradise in which you will immerse yourself due to its beauty, but you will also immerse yourself in all your senses when you enter this paradisiacal field, since the aroma it emits is one of the most dazzling and attractive that you can appreciate in nature.

In Brihuega, you will find truly wonderful places to visit, as it not only preserves the magnificent wall from the 11th and 12th centuries, but you can also visit the Castillo de la Piedra Bermeja, which is Romanesque in style, although a Gothic chapel was later built in the 13th century. The municipal cemetery is currently located within the walled enclosure of the Castle.

This gate consists of a double arch carved in tuff stone, where the stonemasons of the time left their marks. In addition, you will find that access to the Prado de Santa María is given by the Arch of the Guide, today considered a monumental gate.
