Spain in Bloom (www.floracion.es) could not have had a better presentation to the tourism sector at this edition of FITUR. It is taking part in the International Tourism Fair for the first time with a stand (9E22) and has been awarded the prize for the best active tourism product in the country, an award that is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is given by FITUR in collaboration with the magazine al Aire Libre. The presentation took place last Wednesday at the beginning of the II Floración Forum with the presence of the tourism counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Japan and representatives of the Japanese tour operator Kuoni Tumlare and mayors of Mula and Aitona, territories adhering to the product.
This initiative, coordinated by Agromarketing España, stands out for its innovative approach that connects nature, gastronomy and culture. Among the destinations featured in this first edition are the emblematic almond blossoms of Mula, the spectacular flowering of stone fruit trees in Cieza and Aitona, the vibrant lavender fields of Moratalla and lesser-known blooms such as the blackthorn of Pacharán Navarro.
As a prelude to the participation of Spain in Bloom at FITUR, a breakfast was held to present the new product and the appeal of the different blooms that are premium members of the Spain in Bloom Club to more than a dozen national tourism journalists.
During the three days of the professional part of the Fair, Agromarketing Spain and the managers of the different territories were able to hold meetings and contact with other territories and companies in the tourism sector interested in being part of the Club, as well as with agencies and tour operators who want to organize visitor flows to these blooms, with a very positive outcome.
